Hey this is Alice. I'm a freshmen and a new recruited officer of 2015! My intended major is Marketing, Foster( Don't think I could get in though yeeks!) I love anime and I love books arts and crafts. However that doesn't make me a bookworm or otaku lol. I enjoy my own independent time at home, on the other hand I love parties and social activities. On my spare time I go hiking and camping. Sometimes shooting (targets!! of course) I joined HHO because I was helped when I was a freshmen. Thanks to HHO I was not entirely in panic with all the new and unfamiliar environment. I definitely would love to pass this gratefulness to the next freshmen class and so on. I hope that the devotion I put in this organization will help it grow larger and stronger. And I sincerely hope that this organization could help more and more people like me.

My name is Austin Yao, a current Biology major student. I came to UW with a hope of making an impact to the university,(I literally wrote that in my UW application) and Husky Help Organization caught my attention not only because the cute icon it has, but also because it is an organization that wants to "help" students. The first time when I heard about HHO was when HHO was hosting League of Legend and Dota 2 competitions for encouraging student communication. I play League a lot, and was interested in that competition and as well as the organization (at that time was mostly the booth). Through my Calculus and Psychology classmate (and League of Legend), I became friends with a few of the Officers. One of the officer invited me to join their Friday board game event, I never played board games but I decided to check it out anyways. When I got there I was warmed by the happiness that's fulling up the room, I had a great time there and made a lot of friends, then I took a step back looked at the Officers that are caring the equipment and the snacks. I want to say "thank you" to them, but it's not enough. I wanted to do something, perhaps, the same thing. And one day, I accidentally met with you in the TSA night-market (A little ironic), and I asked if I can join you. At that time I didn't even know which "yue" is the "yue" in your name. You, on the other hand, probably doesn't know much about me either, but you said yes. I took that as a gift to me to do something for HHo, and a chance to do something for University of Washington. That is how and why I joined HHO, maybe it is a little late to say, but...

I'm a freshman who wants to major in marketing. My name is Ethan. Actually I didn't think about join HHO when I was still in China. However, when I participated in the welcoming of President Xi, I felt the passion and leadership in those officers. As a result, I applied, wishing to join the family. Yet, I got denied because I didn't put enough focus in filling the chart of application. Nevertheless, I applied again and got accepted as an intern. Although I haven't gone through a lot with my family, the trip to Asian food center and the party we had really moved me and made me feel supported. I wish I could stay in the family and support other members as what they did. Also, I'm looking forward to helping more and more students in UW.

Hello, my name is Julia Zhu. I'm a freshman and intend to major in Psychology and Early Children Education next year. I'm also going to minor in dance and Korean. HHO is a non-profit organization that helps UW students to adapt their lives here by providing all kinds of resources. Before I came to UW, HHO provided me a lot of assistance in adapting to the upcoming new life. It makes me truly want to join the group and use what I've learnt to help others. HHO is more a big family than an organization. After I joined it,I don't feel like I have to navigate this new life alone. I hope I can do my small part to help and support and make HHO become better in the future.

Every time people asked me why I am so passionate about music, I just tell them: I will die without it. I've been play the guitar for three years. But for me, it is a way to express my inner thoughts and my view of the world. Because in the world of music, no one can judge what you say. It is a place of freedom.
